Xymphony_Programming_-_VoIP_Media_Sockets_Or_Ports

The start address of the reserved socket (port) block to be used by the Telesis system for VoIP media exchange is 50000. However, if desired, the start address can be modified to another. To do this, click on Basic link in Homepage Ethernet paragraph.

The Basic link opens Basic Ethernet settings page.

Edit the Available port address textbox for the desired starting port number and then click on OK button. Be aware that when OK button is clicked in Basic Ethernet settings page, modified parameters are stored into volatile memories but they are not activated. In order to activate the new parameters, these should to stored into nonvolatile memories and then the system should be restarted again.

When this is done, the following 255 port numbers (totally 256) are used while opening media sockets.

Note that for the Telesis Large Capacity TDM-IP Telephony Switch X1 and High Density VoIP Access Gateway Stillink 3200, more than 256 port numbers may be used depending on the configuration.

If there are public (outside) IP users, NAT should be programmed such that all ports in the range (set in Basic Ethernet settings page) are forwarded to the IP address of the Telesis system.
